164,000 SF
Challenge:
The new patient tower at CHRISTUS Health Santa Rosa Hospital – Westover Hills adds 164,000 SF of space, over 100 private patient beds, and expands access to high-quality maternal and neonatal care for the growing west side of Bexar County. To support this transformative project, Pulse Design Group was engaged to lead medical equipment planning—an effort that involves aligning complex clinical workflows with highly specialized technology and infrastructure. The scope includes integration of pharmacy automation, ceiling-mounted lifts, and high-density storage systems requiring careful coordination with vendors and design teams. A fast-paced construction schedule and evolving operational needs add further complexity, making streamlined communication and timely decision-making critical to project success.
Solution:
To meet the demands of a fast-tracked schedule and complex clinical scope, Pulse Design Group’s equipment planning team led with proactive coordination and intentional communication. Frequent check-ins with vendors and design partners kept planning aligned with construction progress, while clearly established decision-making channels across the hospital and project teams helped accelerate approvals and avoid delays. By maintaining flexibility and focus, the team delivered equipment solutions that enhance clinical efficiency, prioritize patient comfort, and support future adaptability.
