16,400 SF
Challenge:
The primary challenge in transforming 16,400 SF of existing office space into a comprehensive dermatology clinic was integrating the full range of dermatology services with a dedicated micrographic surgery program(Mohs). Mohs surgery requires a highly specialized environment, including procedure rooms, holding bays, and adjacent lab space to allow for real-time tissue analysis. Balancing these technical demands with general dermatology needs, while also ensuring all staff could be effectively accommodated within the space, required a thoughtful and efficient design strategy.
Solution:
Pulse Design Group approached the project with a focus on workflow efficiency, patient comfort, and clinical precision. The clinic includes 13 exam rooms, four procedure rooms, and an integrated Mohs program featuring four dedicated procedure rooms, holding bays, and lab space—all thoughtfully organized to streamline clinical operations. Spacious team centers were distributed throughout the clinic to minimize staff travel distances and support collaboration. A front-of-house and back-of-house layout separated patient care zones from staff areas, promoting privacy, organization, and a tranquil atmosphere. Dedicated support spaces were tailored to the unique operational needs of both general dermatology and Mohs services, ensuring seamless integration of clinical and surgical functions within a unified, patient-centered environment.
