IT Support Technician / BIM Manager

Position Description

We are seeking a full-time IT support technician / BIM manager to join our growing healthcare facility design team. The position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s IT infrastructure and supporting BIM software and workflows. Qualified candidates for this position should have 5+ years of experience working in an Information Technology position. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to prospective candidates with experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and architectural software support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network equipment
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and email systems (e.g., Microsoft 365/Azure AD)
  • Monitor cybersecurity posture, apply updates/patches, and enforce best practices
  • Serve as first point of contact for help-desk requests; troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  • Maintain IT inventory, warranties, and vendor relationships, and support technology purchasing
  • Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and disaster-recovery plans
  • Support architectural software suites including Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office.
  • Assist architectural staff in implementing BIM workflows, including construction cloud database management, BIM standards, templates, and naming conventions.
  • Work with technology / innovation staff to develop and implement new processes and workflows.
  • Support architectural staff in maintaining central BIM content libraries (families, detail libraries, etc.).
  • Liaise with 24-hour IT support team and consultants to facilitate a stable and secure IT environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related degree, or significant experience supporting IT initiatives for an Architecture or Engineering firm.
  • 5+ years of IT administration experience
    • Preference will be given to individuals with AEC or BIM software background
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, networking (LAN/WAN), DNS, DHCP, file services, print services, and cloud services
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to prioritize support requests
  • Clear communicator with proven ability to support and train non-technical staff

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with BIM 360, Dynamo, or other BIM automation tools
  • Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit Architecture
  • Knowledge of data backup solutions and disaster-recovery planning
